“Achieving a dream, goal, or desire is like the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. It enhances your life, but your life is already beautiful in this current moment.”

—Nancy Salmeron
A friend asked me what my message and my work were about.
I responded, “My work is about reminding individuals that their dreams, goals, and desires are valid. Their passion is linked to their purpose. Life is what you make of it and it starts with a thought. The world is a naturally friendly place where joy can be rediscovered in our breath in every moment of our lives. Every day we need to wake up to what makes us come alive, to our passion, to our purpose. These are the messages I want to share with the world. Sharing them is how I come alive.”
“Wow. That is very ambitious,” she said. “How will you do that?”
I will do that by continuing to make my life’s work my biggest desire. We only accomplish our dreams when our desires are big enough to challenge our negative thinking. You accomplish your life goals and desires when the lack of support and disbelief of others doesn’t influence where you are going. My life’s work is about helping individuals remember who they were always intended to be. I will not rest until every individual that seeks to learn from my work understands that they matter; that they can make a difference in their world; and that it’s their birthright to live a joyful, passionate, fearless, and purposeful life. I will teach individuals that the world is a kind, gentle place, yet life can be challenging. However, those challenges are necessary and perfect for their personal evolution. I want to be remembered as a woman who taught individuals that the only way they will make their desires a reality is to believe in themselves and change limiting, fearful thoughts.
Here are five tips to living a life of passion, purpose, and joy.
Tip One: Don’t let your thoughts dictate your life.
Life is what you make of it and it starts with your thoughts. Question your thoughts. Question your thoughts again! One simple rule that I have is that if my thoughts are causing me to doubt myself, I need to question how legitimate they are. The thoughts that make you feel bad about yourself are thoughts that are coming from your ego, and your ego has no idea about the strength and resiliency of your soul. When you are hearing a lot of negative chatter, stay still and find the voice of your soul. You will recognize that voice because it will remind you of how amazing and fearless you are.
Tip Two: Don’t fear the world. Remember that the world is a naturally friendly place.
We have all heard that it’s a hard, sad world out there. But, the world is based on your perception. It’s a hard, tough, and sad world if you believe it is. Shift this idea by being the change you would like to see in the world. When you do this, you will see and understand that everything is working as it should be in our world. There are things that need to change in our world but by complaining and not doing anything about them, you add to your fear of the world. The world is not out to get you. The world has your back. Believe this and see how many more blessings you discover.
Tip Three: Joy is not something that is achieved only when you achieve your dreams. Joy can be present in your life every day.
The biggest misconception about my work is that all I care about and focus on is completing goals and making dreams a reality. This cannot be further from the truth. I empower individuals to live their dreams out loud and to never doubt that their desires can be attained. But I also want people to understand that as they are working toward their dreams, life is happening. Life is a beautiful event that needs to be savored every moment of everyday. Life is lived moment by moment and not just when dreams become a reality. You are wasting your life if the only time you feel alive is when you reach a goal or make a dream a reality. Joy is found in being aware of the simple pleasures of life. Look around you. For me, a simple joy is brushing my daughter’s hair in the morning and watching her go off to school. This starts my day with a smile. How about you?
Tip Four: Be grateful for your breath, your home, and the people who live in it.
I want you to understand that when you are grateful for your health, your shelter, and your loved ones, you create a feeling of abundance. This feeling makes you feel complete. You don’t need anything else! Being grateful is beautiful because it helps you to attract more beauty into your life. Simply put: You don’t attract what you desire. You attract what you are. Be a beacon filled with joy and light. Have desires, but don’t forget to count your blessings every day!
Tip Five: Follow your passion and it will connect you to your purpose.
When you follow your passion, you soon discover that it brings you to your purpose. Your passion is a reminder of what you should be pursuing in this world. Your passion should never be ignored because it takes away your joy and your gift to the world. Imagine if people like Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, Martin Luther King, and Steve Jobs had not been passionate about their work? We would not have known or benefitted from their true purpose in life. Identify your passion and don’t be afraid to pursue it. When you do, I can guarantee you that it will introduce you to your reason for being here—your purpose.
When I am no longer physically existing on this planet, I want those who have stumbled upon my work to remember that we are creators of our lives and that it starts with our thoughts. I also want these individuals to know that following something they are passionate about will introduce them to their purpose. And that to live in purpose is to share your gift with the world. I want to remind you that you will never get what you desire if you don’t fully understand that you already have everything you need to be joyful. Practice gratitude by recognizing that you have abundance in the present moment. Achieving a dream, goal, or desire is like the cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. It enhances your life, but your life is already beautiful in this current moment.Life will give you what you ask of it when you truly Believe. Change. Become. See you next Monday!
