“Losers visualize the penalties of failure.
Winners Visualize the rewards of success.”
-William S. Gilbert

Last week I attended Sought After Speaker Summit, by Caterina Rando in San Francisco. She is a powerhouse when it comes to the business of public speaking and an exceptional human being! I learned a lot about the business of Public Speaking, but was also reminded of the power and the importance visualization has to acquiring dreams. We did a visualization exercise that transported me five years into my future that brought some tears. These were tears of joy, because I believe that visualizations foreshadow your dreams to come!
This morning I want to talk about visualization so that you can also be on our way to acquiring your dreams. Remember, what you focus on you attract! It starts with a vision and moves on from there. Skeptics may argue that visualization is a waste of time but there is scientific proof that your brain can not tell the difference between a visualized image and reality. Many successful people such as Jim Carey and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been very vocal on the power of visualization. “It’s all in the mind.” Arnold has said. Today, I want to teach you how what worked for Arnold and Jim can work for you!

I believe that visualizations are mental rehearsals. It’s the essence of believing. You create images in your mind of having whatever you want, and if you are patient and work towards it you will get it! Key words patience and work toward what you want. Here are the three steps to visualization to make your dreams come true!

Smell, taste, feel when you visualize.
What does it smell like when you acquire that dream or goal? Can you taste it? What is the feeling like? Doe it bring joy to your life? Remember that your subconscious mind does not know the difference between real and made up. In essence you are rehearsing or preparing yourself for when it happens. It’s not about hope, it’s about being there right now! Play with it dream big. Let your desires be unrealistic. Successful people where never realistic. Trust that what you smell, taste and feel will be yours!

Focus on end result.
See yourself accomplishing your dreams or goals. Don’t focus on what it will take to get there. See yourself doing it. For example, when I started visualizing my dreams I always saw myself being successful. I never doubted that I could be doing what I am doing now. I was not realistic as to the time or the work that had to be put it. I simply saw my end result and strived for that. Everything you need to accomplish your goals will come to you. Don’t worry about the details just focus on the end result!

Fake it till you become it.
Live your life as if you have succeeded in your goals. Begin to dress, talk, walk and look like the person you want to be. I have clients who feel that they are not being real when they do this. I remind them its dress rehearsal and they are getting ready for their final performance. I ask them to live it up! Also, it’s important to use positive talk with your affirmations. Tell yourself how awesome you are and how you bring value to your success.

Visualizations are the realities you will bring to your life. Don’t believe me? Look around you, everything you see started in your mind. Yes, even those things that are not giving you joy. That was brought out of fear, but just the same it started in your mind. Whatever your belief, one thing that is clear is that the power of imagination is evident. Visualizing is a powerful tool because it’s rehearsing what is coming your way. Good or bad it’s coming! I hope this morning I gave you some awareness on how to have good visualizations, that will make your dreams not your fears come true. Until next Monday!

Believe. Change. Become,
