“We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are.”
I am a creature of habit, I enjoy structure and routine. It makes me feel safe. Yet, most recently my life has been filled with uncertainty and chaos. I am currently moving to my dream home at a very big cost. I am losing comfort and security for the discomfort of an older home that requires a lot of work. It is demolition time at the Salmeron’s household! These past couple of months have pushed my boundaries and patience. But in reflecting in the destruction and chaos that I have endured, I have also learned just how adaptable we can be if we choose to embrace change.
“Chaos,” that’s where I have been for a couple of months now, but I know that at the end it will be well worth it!
Many of us resist change unfortunately we don’t realize that change is constant. Resist all you want, but with or without your permission change is coming.
Today I am going to answer these questions about change.
· When should you seek change?
· Why should we embrace change?
· How do we embrace change?
When should you seek change?
You should voluntary seek change when you feel stuck. When you are asking yourself the eternal, “there’s got to be more than this?” When you are seeking personal growth. We all have things in our lives we would like to improve such as, a better job, house, partner, or a healthier life style. The reason you may have conformed to what you have is because you may notbelieve that change is possible. I am here to tell you not only that is possible but it is necessary! It is essential for your personal development that you go after change.
Fight change? Think of the consequences.
Why should we embrace change?
You should embrace change because it may lead to a new improved you! Like I said I appreciate routine and structure, but I also like to,” stir it up” to become better. These changes I seek may scare me, but I know these changes will make me stronger and wiser. I am willing to get out of my comfort zone to take the first step for change. I believe that change is always followed by progress. Yet, it is only those that are seeking progress that will see it this way. Change is simply opening a new chapter in your life. This is the next chapter where you will apply what you already know to make it better. So make the next chapter more exciting!
How do you embrace change?
You must first truly believe that change is possible and NECESSARY for the better you! Sometimes you may seek change other times it may seek you. In both situations change is visiting you for your personal development. Understand that change is growth, therefore give yourself permission to grow. Understand that change will bring new excitement to your life. Without change there is no progress. When you embrace change you learn to accept that it is part of life. Like I said before, “you may resist change, yet it is coming with or without your permission.” So make the best of it and welcome it with open arms! Remember change is here to improve you, but to perfect yourself you must always seek it.
Yes, I agree change can be scary, but you know what is more scary? Letting fear stop you from be growing and evolving to becoming your best self!
Charles Darwin said, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the most responsive to change.”
Be responsive, take charge of your life and get out there and seek change. It may get you out of your comfort zone, but it will also make you experience other wonderful things. So, if it’s you seeking or change seeking you, take a deep breath, take a step back and welcome the opportunity for growth! Until next Monday, BELIEVE, embrace CHANGE to BECOME!
